Hu Recom RANKL, ACF, 1000 µg

A lyophilized recombinant human protein supplied by STEMCELL Technologies. Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily and is expressed in both membrane-bound and secreted forms. The animal component-free preparation is produced in E. coli and lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution containing sodium phosphate at pH 7.5.

RANKL binds its receptor RANK, and binding is also shared by the decoy receptor osteoprotegerin (OPG). It plays a role in osteoclastogenesis and in T cell activation. Purity is reported as ≥ 95%. Specific activity is ≥ 2 x 10^4 units/mg, determined by induction of bioluminescence in engineered RANKL bioassay cells, with an EC50 of ≤ 50 ng/mL. Endotoxin level is ≤ 1 EU/μg protein, measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis.

For use, centrifuge the vial before opening and reconstitute in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL, pipetting the solution down the sides of the vial without vortexing. Store the lyophilized product at -20 to -80°C; it is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The chemical is not considered hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) and is supplied for research use only, not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic uses unless otherwise stated.
