Hu Recom RANKL, ACF, 100 µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this animal component-free preparation of human Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL) is supplied as a lyophilized powder from a sterile-filtered solution containing sodium phosphate at pH 7.5. RANKL is a type II homotrimeric transmembrane protein of the TNF superfamily, expressed in both membrane-bound and secreted forms. It binds the receptor RANK to activate the AKT signaling pathway and is involved in osteoclastogenesis and T cell activation. The recombinant protein is produced in E. coli, has a predicted molecular mass of 19.7 kDa, and is also referenced under alternative names including CD254, TNFSF11, TRANCE, OPGL, and ODF.

Reported specifications include a purity of ≥ 95%, an endotoxin level of ≤ 1 EU/μg protein, and a specific activity of ≥ 2 x 10^4 units/mg (EC50 ≤ 50 ng/mL) as determined by the ability to induce bioluminescence in engineered RANKL bioassay cells. For preparation, centrifuge the vial before opening and reconstitute in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting the solution down the sides of the vial; do not vortex. Optionally, dilute with concentrated bovine serum albumin (BSA) to a final concentration of 0.1% if the reconstituted product will not be used immediately. Store at -20 to -80°C; the product is stable as supplied for 12 months from date of receipt. As a general guide, do not store at 2 - 8°C for more than 1 month or at -20 to -80°C for more than 3 months, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
