Hu Recom RANKL, 500 µg

Offered by STEMCELL Technologies, this lyophilized recombinant human Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily and is produced in E. coli. RANKL is a type II homotrimeric transmembrane protein expressed in both membrane-bound and secreted forms, and it binds to the receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B (RANK). Upon binding to its receptor, RANKL activates the AKT signaling pathway, while osteoprotegerin (OPG) may also bind RANKL and compete with RANKL–RANK binding. RANKL is involved in osteoclastogenesis and T cell activation.

The product is formulated as a lyophilized powder from a sterile-filtered solution containing sodium phosphate at pH 7.5, with a purity of ≥ 95%. Specific activity is ≥ 2 x 10^4 units/mg as determined by an engineered RANKL bioassay cell-based assay, with EC50 ≤ 50 ng/mL. Endotoxin level is measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis and is ≤ 1 EU/μg protein.

For preparation, the vial should be centrifuged before opening and reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting the solution down the sides of the vial without vortexing. Store at -20 to -80°C; the product is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt. For research use only.
