STEMCELL Technologies supplies Human Recombinant PDGF-BB, ACF, also referenced as Platelet-derived growth factor BB. PDGF-BB is described as a mitogen for dermal fibroblasts, glial cells, arterial smooth muscle cells, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells.

The biological activity of Human Recombinant PDGF-BB, ACF was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of NR6R-3T3 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum; the EC50 in the example provided is 5.41 ng/mL.

In a quality assessment, 1 μg of Human Recombinant PDGF-BB, ACF was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.
