Biological activity is evaluated by the ability to promote proliferation of NR6R-3T3 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay, with an EC50 of 2.12 ng/mL. SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing and non-reducing conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, confirms the protein is a homodimer of 12.4 kDa subunits with a predicted total molecular mass of 24.9 kDa.
