Hu Recom PDGF-AB, ACF, 100 µg

Recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor-AB (PDGF-AB) is supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a 100 µg lyophilized powder in an Animal Component-Free (ACF) formulation, intended for research use only in in vitro cell biology workflows.

PDGF-AB is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of one PDGF-A chain and one PDGF-B chain. It binds and activates PDGF receptor alpha (PDGFR-α) and PDGFR-β tyrosine kinases, driving mitogenic signaling, chemotaxis, and extracellular matrix remodeling in mesenchymal-lineage cells such as fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, osteoblasts, and mesenchymal stem cells.

Typical laboratory applications include supplementation of serum-free and xeno-free media for mesenchymal stem cell expansion, osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation protocols, wound-healing assays, smooth muscle proliferation studies, and tissue-engineering scaffold research. Standard working concentrations fall in the 5 to 20 ng/mL range depending on cell type and application.

For handling, reconstitute the lyophilized pellet in sterile buffer, aliquot into single-use vials to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store at –20 °C to –80 °C protected from light. Each 100 µg pack size supports multiple experiments across these applications.
