STEMCELL Technologies supplies this Human Recombinant PDGF-AA in an animal component-free (ACF) formulation, providing 100 µg of lyophilized or frozen cytokine for defined and xeno-free cell culture workflows. PDGF-AA is the AA homodimer isoform of platelet-derived growth factor and signals through PDGF receptor-alpha (PDGFRα), driving proliferation, chemotaxis, and extracellular matrix remodeling in mesenchymal lineages.

Typical research applications include the expansion of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and mesenchymal stromal cells, osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation studies, fibroblast and smooth muscle cell culture, wound healing models, and angiogenic or vascular remodeling assays. The ACF manufacturing process avoids animal-derived raw materials during production, supporting translational and regenerative medicine workflows where xeno-free conditions are a requirement.

The 100 µg vial size accommodates both small-scale media optimization and larger expansion campaigns; reconstitute in a suitable buffer (such as PBS with a carrier protein), then divide into single-use aliquots and store frozen to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and preserve bioactivity. Store the unopened vial at -20 °C or below. Working concentrations in cell culture are generally in the low ng/mL range, depending on cell type and medium formulation. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Refer to the supplied Certificate of Analysis and the STEMCELL Technologies documentation for lot-specific activity, purity, and any species cross-reactivity data.
