Hu Recom M-CSF, ACF, 100 µg

A Human Recombinant M-CSF (Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor) preparation, manufactured animal component-free (ACF) by STEMCELL Technologies. According to the manufacturer, M-CSF is required for the maturation and activation of monocytes and macrophages and regulates inflammatory responses in conjunction with other stimuli.

The biological activity of the preparation was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of NFS-60 cells. Cell proliferation was measured after 62 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the cytokine at which proliferation is at 50% of maximum; in the cited example, the EC50 is 3 ng/mL. Purity was assessed by SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualised by Coomassie Blue staining.

The product is intended for research applications including the immunomagnetic negative isolation of untouched human monocytes directly from whole blood, and supports workflows involving primary human cells and macrophage colony-stimulating factor studies.
