Hu Recom M-CSF, 1000 µg

Produced by STEMCELL Technologies, this recombinant Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is expressed in E. coli and supplied as a homodimeric glycoprotein growth factor. M-CSF regulates proliferation and differentiation of myeloid hematopoietic progenitor cells into mononuclear phagocytic cell lineages, including monocytes, macrophages, and osteoclasts. It is required for maturation and activation of monocytes and macrophages and modulates inflammatory responses in conjunction with other stimuli such as IFN-γ, LPS, and IL-4. M-CSF also supports bone resorption by osteoclasts and contributes to the development and regulation of the placenta, mammary gland, and brain.

The product is lyophilized from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing sodium phosphate and sodium chloride at pH 8. Purity is ≥ 95%. The predicted molecular mass is 18.5 kDa for the monomer and 37.1 kDa for the dimer. Biological activity is determined by a cell proliferation assay using NFS-60 cells, with an EC50 of ≤ 10 ng/mL and a specific activity of approximately 1.02 x 10^5 IU/µg, calibrated against the human recombinant M-CSF WHO International Standard (NIBSC code: 89/512). Endotoxin level is ≤ 1 EU/μg protein, as measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis.

Store at -20 to -80°C; the product is stable as supplied for 12 months from date of receipt. Alternative names include Colony stimulating factor 1 and CSF1 (Accession Number P09603).
