Hu Recom IL-6R alpha, 50 µg

STEMCELL Technologies Human Recombinant IL-6R alpha is a research-grade recombinant protein used to support studies of interleukin signalling. IL-6R alpha mediates both local and systemic biological activities of IL-6.

Biological activity is assessed by the ability of the protein to inhibit the proliferation of M1 cells, with proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation inhibition is at 50% of maximum, and the EC50 in the reported assay is less than 200 ng/mL. In SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing and non-reducing conditions followed by Coomassie Blue staining, the protein shows a predicted molecular mass of 50 - 58 kDa.

According to the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet, the product is classified as a solid that is not a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, and it is not regulated for transport by DOT, TDG, MEX, ICAO, IATA, IMDG, RID, ADR or ADN.
