STEMCELL Technologies offers Human Recombinant IL-6R alpha as a laboratory reagent supporting research workflows involving Interleukin 2, Interleukin 4, and Interleukin 6. IL-6R alpha mediates both local and systemic biological activities of IL-6.

Biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-6R alpha is validated by its ability to inhibit the proliferation of M1 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation inhibition is 50% of maximum, is less than 200 ng/mL. For purity assessment, 5 μg of the protein was resolved by SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, showing a predicted molecular mass of 50 - 58 kDa.

The product is supplied as a solid and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) or the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). No special personal protective equipment is required under normal use conditions. It is chemically stable under recommended transport or storage conditions and is not regulated for transport by DOT, TDG, ICAO, IATA, or IMDG.
