Hu Recom IL-4, ACF, 1000 µg

STEMCELL Technologies offers an animal component-free recombinant human Interleukin-4 (IL-4) for research use. The protein is expressed in E. coli, has a predicted molecular mass of 15.1 kDa, and corresponds to UniProt accession P05112. It is lyophilized from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid and is reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL.

Biological activity was tested by a TF-1 cell proliferation assay measured after 72 hours, with an EC50 of ≤ 0.25 ng/mL and a representative value of 0.2 ng/mL. The specific activity is approximately 1.4 x 10^4 IU/µg, calibrated against the human recombinant IL-4 WHO International Standard (NIBSC code 88/656). Purity is ≥ 95% by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions, and endotoxin is ≤ 1 EU/µg protein as determined by kinetic LAL analysis. The protein does not cross-react with mouse cells.

IL-4 is involved in immunoglobulin class switching in B cells, mast cell hyperplasia, mucus production, and the differentiation of naïve T cells into Th2 cells. The product is for research use only.
