STEMCELL Technologies offers Human Recombinant IL-21, a cytokine that regulates immunoglobulin production and the differentiation of the pro-inflammatory Th17 cell population. The biological activity of this recombinant protein was demonstrated by its ability to inhibit the proliferation of Mino cells, as measured using a fluorometric assay, with an EC50 of less than 0.5 ng/mL. In SDS-PAGE analysis, 2 μg of the protein was resolved under both reducing and non-reducing conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, showing a predicted molecular mass of 15.4 kDa. The product is designed for use in research areas including immunodensity negative selection and the immunomagnetic negative isolation of untouched human T cells and CD8+ T cells.
