From STEMCELL Technologies, Human Recombinant IL-15 is a research cytokine that supports survival and proliferation of naive CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, homeostasis of memory T cells, and survival and differentiation of NK cells. Manufacturer data shows biological activity was assessed by the protein's ability to promote proliferation of CTLL2 cells, with an EC50 of ≤ 1 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 12.9 kDa, confirmed by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions with Coomassie Blue staining.

IL-15 is incorporated into the StemSpan™ T Cell Generation Kit workflow. It is used alongside StemSpan™ SFEM II, T Cell Progenitor Maturation Supplement, and ImmunoCult™ CD3/CD28/CD2 T Cell Activator on coated plates to mature double-positive cells into CD8 SP T cells over an additional 7 days of culture, reaching analysis on day 49.
