A recombinant human cytokine from STEMCELL Technologies, IL-12 is one of the cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors used by scientists for immunology and stem cell research applications involving the activation, expansion, and differentiation of immune and stem cells.

IL-12 stimulates NK, B, and T cells to produce IFN-γ and regulates cytokine synthesis along with the proliferation of T and NK cells. The biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-12 has been tested by its ability to induce IFN-gamma production in NK cells co-stimulated with IL18, yielding an EC50 of less than 2 ng/mL. SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions reveals a predicted molecular mass of 22.5 - 34.7 kDa.
