STEMCELL Technologies supplies this Animal Component-Free (ACF) Human Recombinant IL-11 as a laboratory reagent. According to the product documentation, the biological activity of the cytokine was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which proliferation reaches 50% of maximum, is 1.68 ng/mL.

Quality control data show that 1 μg of the protein was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualised by Coomassie Blue staining. The product has a predicted molecular mass of 19.3 kDa.
