Hu Recom IL-11, ACF, 100 µg

A laboratory reagent from STEMCELL Technologies, Human Recombinant IL-11, ACF (animal component-free) is intended for research applications. Cytokines, the class of molecule to which IL-11 belongs, are described in the product documentation as low-molecular-weight soluble proteins with roles in regulating innate and adaptive immunity, hematopoiesis, cell growth, and tissue repair.

Biological activity of the recombinant protein has been demonstrated by its ability to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay. In the reported example, the EC50 — defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum — is 1.68 ng/mL. SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing and non-reducing conditions, visualised by Coomassie Blue staining, shows a predicted molecular mass of 19.3 kDa.

According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, the product is a solid and is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) or the Globally Harmonized System. Transport is not regulated under DOT, TDG, MEX, ICAO, IATA, IMDG, RID, ADR, or ADN. Storage should be in accordance with the Product Information Sheet.
