Hu Recom IL-10, ACF, 100 µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this animal component-free recombinant human cytokine is supplied as a lyophilized solid expressed in E. coli and formulated in a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing sodium phosphate at pH 7.5. The protein is Interleukin-10 (IL-10), ACF, the founding member of the IL-10 family of class II cytokines, which share a four-helix bundle consisting of α-helical folds. Upon receptor binding, IL-10 signals through JAK1 and STAT3. It is produced by dendritic cells, macrophages, and CD4 T cells, as well as mast cells, NK cells, neutrophils, and B cells under specific stimulating conditions. IL-10 inhibits the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, promotes healing processes, and supports regulatory T cell function, while IL-10 produced by macrophages inhibits activation of neighboring macrophages. The cytokine also enhances B cell proliferation, immunoglobulin secretion, and class II MHC expression.

The recombinant protein has a predicted molecular mass of 18.8 kDa, is of human origin (UniProt accession P22301), and is supplied at a purity of ≥ 97%. Biological activity is determined by a cell proliferation assay using MC/9 cells, with an EC50 of ≤ 5 ng/mL and a specific activity of approximately 5.4 x 10^3 IU/µg, calibrated against the human recombinant IL-10 WHO International Standard (NIBSC code 93/722). Endotoxin levels are measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis and are ≤ 1 EU/µg protein. According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, the product is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard or the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The recommended storage condition is -20 to -80°C, and the product is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt.
