STEMCELL Technologies supplies Human Recombinant IL-10, a research-use laboratory reagent manufactured under an ISO 13485-certified quality management system. The cytokine is described as repressing excessive pro-inflammatory responses and enhancing B cell proliferation, immunoglobulin secretion, and class II MHC expression. Biological activity is determined by the protein's ability to promote proliferation of MC/9 cells, measured with a fluorometric assay; in the example shown, the EC50 is less than 0.2 ng/mL. The recombinant has a predicted molecular mass of 18 - 19 kDa, and 5 μg resolves on SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.

The product is supplied as a solid powder and is stable under normal conditions. According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, it is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) or the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). Recommended storage is in tightly closed containers kept in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place.
