Biological activity is tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of D10S cells, with cell proliferation measured after 66 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, and in the reported assay the EC50 is 0.7 - 1 pg/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 17.5 kDa.
