STEMCELL Technologies offers Human Recombinant IL-1 alpha in an Animal Component-Free (ACF) formulation as part of its cytokines range, classified under Human Cytokines.

According to the product information sheet, the biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-1 alpha, ACF was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of D10.G4.1 cells. Cell proliferation was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the reported example is 7.7 pg/mL.

SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, indicated a predicted molecular mass of 18.0 kDa.
