Hu Recom IL-1 alpha, ACF, 100 µg

STEMCELL Technologies supplies Human Recombinant IL-1 alpha, ACF as part of its Human Cytokines product line. Cytokines are described as low molecular weight soluble proteins produced by various cells in response to immunogens, mitogens, or other stimulants, and they regulate innate and adaptive immunity, hematopoiesis, cell growth, and the repair of damaged tissue.

The biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-1 alpha, ACF was determined by its ability to promote the proliferation of D10.G4.1 cells. Cell proliferation was quantified using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which proliferation reaches 50% of the maximum, was measured at 7.7 pg/mL in the assay described.

Purity was assessed by SDS-PAGE: 1 μg of Human Recombinant IL-1 alpha, ACF was resolved under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. The product has a predicted molecular mass of 18.0 kDa.
