Hu Recom IGF-II, 10 µg

Supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, this human recombinant polypeptide belongs to the insulin-like growth factor family and shares molecular similarity with proinsulin. Binding to the IGF-I receptor activates intracellular signaling through the MAPK and PI3K pathways. The factor influences growth, differentiation, and survival of cells across a variety of tissues during embryonic development, and has been reported to stimulate proliferation and migration of primary lymphatic endothelial cells and to induce lymphangiogenesis (Guvakova).

Also referred to as Insulin-like growth factor II, Insulin-like growth factor type 2, Somatomedin A, and T3M-11-derived growth factor, the protein has Accession Number P01344 and a predicted molecular mass of 7.5 kDa. It is produced in E. coli and lyophilized from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid. Purity is ≥ 95%. Specific activity is ≥ 1.7 x 10^5 units/mg, with an EC50 ≤ 6 ng/mL as determined by a cell proliferation assay using MCF-7 cells. Endotoxin level is ≤ 0.1 EU/μg protein, measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis.

The lyophilized product should be stored at -20 to -80°C and is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt. Before opening, the vial should be centrifuged and reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting the solution down the sides of the vial; vortexing should be avoided.
