Hu Recom IFN-gamma, 1000µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this laboratory reagent is a recombinant human form of IFN-gamma, supplied as a powder (solid). IFN-γ is described as stimulating the antimicrobial and anti-tumor activity of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils.

The biological activity of the product was tested by its ability to promote the cytotoxicity of HT-29 (HTB-38) cells, measured using a fluorometric assay. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell death is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 for this effect is 0.035 ng/mL. When 2 μg of the product was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, the protein showed a predicted molecular mass of 17 kDa.

According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) or the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and it is stable under normal conditions. Recommended handling follows good industrial hygiene and safety practice, with containers kept tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place.
