IFN-alpha 2A, also known as IFNA2 or IFNA2a, is a recombinant human cytokine supplied by STEMCELL Technologies. It initiates antiviral responses, stimulates cytotoxic T cell and NK cell function, and inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells [S1].

Biological activity is measured by the ability to induce cytotoxicity of TF-1 cells, with an EC50 of ≤ 0.3 ng/mL. SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing and non-reducing conditions with Coomassie Blue staining shows a predicted molecular mass of 19.4 kDa [S1].
