From STEMCELL Technologies, this Human Recombinant HGF is a CHO-expressed pleiotropic growth factor that promotes proliferation, motility, survival, and differentiation. It is presented as a solid laboratory reagent and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

Biological activity is confirmed by its ability to promote the proliferation of 4MBr5 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, and in this assay the EC50 is 7.2 ng/mL. Purity and chain composition are verified by SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions, with 5 μg of the protein resolved and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. The product has a predicted molecular mass of 88 - 90 kDa (single chain), 59 - 61 kDa (alpha chain), or 30 - 34 kDa (beta chain).
