Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this recombinant human GRO-beta (CXCL2) protein is supplied as a solid powder intended for use as a laboratory reagent. According to the manufacturer, GRO-beta recruits and activates neutrophils and basophils in response to tissue injury and microbial infection. The product is described as supporting research workflows including immunomagnetic negative selection of untouched human pan-granulocytes (neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils) from fresh peripheral blood leukocytes and immunomagnetic isolation of untouched neutrophils directly from whole blood.

Biological activity is demonstrated by Ca2+ mobilization in CHO-K1/Gα15/hCXCR2 cells (human Gα15 and human CXCR2 stably expressed in CHO-K1 cells), measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which Ca2+ mobilization reaches 50% of maximum, is less than 0.2 μg/mL. Purity is illustrated by SDS-PAGE analysis of 2 μg of the protein resolved under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.
