Hu Recom GRO-beta (CXCL2), 25 µg

A lyophilized human recombinant cytokine supplied as a powder by STEMCELL Technologies. The protein is a member of the CXC chemokine family and plays an integral role in the recruitment and activation of neutrophils and basophils in response to tissue injury and microbial infection. Receptor-binding studies show that GRO-beta signals mainly through the G protein-coupled receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2. It is expressed in epithelial cells, monocytes, fibroblasts, and melanocytes, and is further induced during inflammatory, epithelialization, and angiogenic processes.

The product is formulated by lyophilization following dialysis against phosphate-buffered saline, with E. coli as the expression source. It has a predicted molecular mass of 7.9 kDa (Accession P19875), shows cross-reactivity with mouse, and is supplied at ≥ 95% purity. Endotoxin level is ≤ 0.2 EU/μg protein as measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis. Biological activity is determined by calcium mobilization in CHO-K1/Gα15/hCXCR2 cells, with a specific activity of ≥ 5.0 × 10^3 units/mg and an EC50 of ≤ 0.2 μg/mL.

For preparation, the vial should be centrifuged before opening and the contents reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting down the sides of the vial; vortexing is not recommended. The lyophilized product is stable for 12 months from the date of receipt when stored at −80 °C. Per the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet, the product is a laboratory reagent and is not considered a hazardous substance or mixture under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard or the Globally Harmonized System.
