Hu Recom GM-CSF (E.coli Exp), 500 µg

An E. coli-derived recombinant cytokine from STEMCELL Technologies, this granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) promotes the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells and the generation of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages. Acting through a receptor composed of the cytokine-specific α subunit (CD116) and the common βc subunit (CD131) shared with IL-3 and IL-5 receptors, GM-CSF is expressed on hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. The recombinant human form (rhGM-CSF) has been investigated for mobilizing hematopoietic progenitor cells and for treating chemotherapy-induced neutropenia.

This lyophilized preparation is sourced from E. coli with a predicted molecular mass of 14.6 kDa and ≥ 95% purity. Endotoxin levels are ≤ 1 EU/μg protein. Specific activity is ≥ 5 x 10^6 units/mg (EC50 ≤ 200 pg/mL) by a TF-1 cell proliferation assay, with an observed EC50 of 80 - 120 pg/mL (0.08 - 0.12 ng/mL). The product is not active on mouse cells. It is lyophilized from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing sodium phosphate, pH 7.5.

For storage, the product should be kept at -20°C to -80°C and is stable as supplied for 12 months from date of receipt. To reconstitute, centrifuge the vial before opening and dissolve in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting down the sides of the vial; do not vortex.
