Hu Recom GM-CSF (CHO Expr.), 1000 µg

A recombinant human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) expressed in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a solid powder for research use. GM-CSF promotes the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors and supports the generation of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages.

Biological activity is determined by the ability to promote proliferation of TF-1 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay; the EC50 is defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation reaches 50% of maximum. In the example provided by the manufacturer, the EC50 is less than 0.2 ng/mL. The product has a predicted molecular mass of 14.5 kDa, and 2 μg was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.

According to the manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet, this product is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). STEMCELL Technologies' quality management system is certified to ISO 13485, and the product is intended for research use only.
