Hu Recom GM-CSF (CHO Expr.), 10 µg

A human recombinant granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) expressed in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells and manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies. According to the manufacturer, GM-CSF promotes the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors and supports the generation of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages.

Biological activity is assessed by the ability of the protein to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. In the manufacturer's example, the EC50 is less than 0.2 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 14.5 kDa, and 2 μg was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.

This product is designed for use in research areas including the immunomagnetic positive selection of human CD14+ cells, the immunomagnetic negative selection of human myeloid dendritic cells, the immunomagnetic negative isolation of untouched human monocytes directly from whole blood, and work involving a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody against human, rhesus, and cynomolgus CD14.
