Hu Recom GM-CSF, ACF, 5 µg

STEMCELL Technologies supplies this Human Recombinant GM-CSF in an animal component-free (ACF) formulation, produced in E. coli with no trace of animal or human components. GM-CSF, also referred to as Colony-stimulating factor 2 (CSF-2), MGI-1GM, or Pluripoitin-alpha, promotes the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors and supports the generation of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages.

As part of STEMCELL's cytokine, chemokine, and growth factor portfolio, the product is suited for applications in the activation, expansion, and differentiation of immune and stem cells. Recombinant cytokines from the manufacturer are produced under stringent criteria, with guaranteed purity of ≥ 95% and endotoxin levels of ≤ 0.2 EU/μg protein to ensure consistency and reproducibility across multiple applications.

Biological activity is assessed by the ability of the ACF GM-CSF to promote proliferation of TF-1 cells, with cell proliferation measured after 48 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration at which cell proliferation reaches 50% of maximum, is 62 pg/mL in the example shown. Quality is also verified by resolving the protein with SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. This product is for research use only.
