Hu Recom GDNF, ACF, 1000 µg

STEMCELL Technologies offers this animal component-free (ACF) human recombinant Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). GDNF promotes survival and differentiation of midbrain dopaminergic neurons and supports human PSC-derived neural progenitor cells into neurons. The biological activity of the product was assessed by its ability to promote the proliferation of C6 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. In the example shown, the EC50 is 1.84 μg/mL.

For quality assessment, 1 μg of the product was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. The product is intended for use in research areas including neural and pancreatic differentiation of mouse and human ES and iPS cells, as well as applications involving serum-free neurophysiological basal medium for improved neuronal function.
