From STEMCELL Technologies, this Human Recombinant GDNF, ACF is a recombinant form of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor. The protein promotes the survival and differentiation of midbrain dopaminergic neurons and supports human PSC-derived neural progenitor cells as they mature into neurons.

Bioactivity is demonstrated by a proliferation assay using C6 cells, with cell growth quantified by a fluorometric method. The EC50, defined as the effective concentration yielding 50% of maximum proliferation, was 1.84 μg/mL in the manufacturer's example. Protein integrity is verified by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions, visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.
