Hu Recom GDNF, ACF, 10 µg

STEMCELL Technologies Human Recombinant GDNF, ACF (animal component-free) is a recombinant glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor that promotes the survival and differentiation of midbrain dopaminergic neurons and supports human PSC-derived neural progenitor cells cultured into neurons.

Biological activity is determined by the protein's capacity to promote proliferation of C6 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay. The EC50 — defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation reaches 50% of maximum — was 1.84 μg/mL in the example shown. Purity is assessed by resolving 1 μg of the protein with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (−) conditions, followed by Coomassie Blue staining.

The product is designed for use in serum-free neurophysiological workflows aimed at improved neuronal function, as well as in the neural and pancreatic differentiation of mouse and human ES and iPS cells.
