Hu Recom G-CSF, ACF, 100 µg

A recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) from STEMCELL Technologies, designated ACF. According to the manufacturer, G-CSF stimulates the initial proliferation of granulocyte-macrophage progenitors and supports the survival of erythroid and eosinophil progenitors.

Biological activity is evaluated by the ability of the preparation to promote proliferation of mouse NFS-60 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay. In the manufacturer's example, the EC50 — defined as the effective concentration of the cytokine at which proliferation reaches 50% of maximum — is 0.053 ng/mL. SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions with Coomassie Blue staining indicates a predicted molecular mass of 18.8 kDa.

The accompanying safety data sheet describes the material as a solid powder. It is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) or the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and is intended for use as a laboratory reagent.
