Hu Recom Follistatin, 100 µg

A laboratory reagent from STEMCELL Technologies, Human Recombinant Follistatin is supplied as a solid powder. The recombinant protein binds and inhibits the function of activin, myostatin, growth differentiation factors, and bone morphogenic proteins.

According to the manufacturer safety data sheet, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) or the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). Biological activity was assessed by neutralization of human activin A-induced cytotoxicity in MPC-11 cells, with cell viability measured after 66 hours using a fluorometric assay; the EC50, defined as the effective concentration producing 50% of maximum cell viability, was 0.04 μg/mL. Purity was evaluated by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions with visualization by Coomassie Blue staining.
