Hu Recom Flt3/Flk-2 Ligand, 1000 µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this E. coli-expressed Human Recombinant Flt3/Flk-2 Ligand is a hematopoietic cytokine supplied as a lyophilized powder. The ligand acts as a co-stimulatory factor in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, and contributes to immune system development. Both membrane-bound and soluble isoforms are biologically active and signal through the class III tyrosine kinase receptor Flt3/Flk-2 (CD135).

In cell culture, the cytokine is commonly used alongside stem cell factor and thrombopoietin to promote expansion of primitive CD34+ hematopoietic cells. Combined with myeloid cytokines such as GM-CSF, G-CSF, or M-CSF, it enhances growth and numbers of clonogenic myeloid progenitors. In synergy with IL-3, IL-4, IL-7, IL-11, IL-12, IL-15, GM-CSF, and TNF-α, it regulates the development of lymphoid progenitors, including dendritic, B, T, and NK cell progenitors, while showing no significant effect on erythropoiesis or megakaryopoiesis.

Specifications include a predicted molecular mass of 17.6 kDa, ≥ 95% purity, and a specific activity of ≥ 1 x 10^5 units/mg, with an EC50 of ≤ 10 ng/mL as determined by a cell proliferation assay using OCI-AML5 cells. Endotoxin level is ≤ 1 EU/μg protein, measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis. The product is for research use only. Store at -20 to -80°C; it is stable for 12 months from date of receipt. Reconstitute in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting the solution down the sides of the vial; do not vortex.
