Hu Recom Flt3/Flk-2 Ligand, 10 µg

STEMCELL Technologies offers this human recombinant Flt3/Flk-2 Ligand, a hematopoietic cytokine also known as FL, FLT3L, Flt3-L, or Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand. The protein is expressed in E. coli and lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution containing sodium phosphate and sodium chloride at pH 7.5, with a predicted molecular mass of 17.6 kDa and a purity of ≥ 95%.

Flt3/Flk-2 Ligand acts as a co-stimulatory factor in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, and is used together with stem cell factor and thrombopoietin to expand primitive CD34+ hematopoietic cells in culture. In combination with myeloid cytokines such as GM-CSF, G-CSF, and M-CSF, it enhances the growth of clonogenic myeloid progenitors, while in synergy with IL-3, IL-4, IL-7, IL-11, IL-12, IL-15, GM-CSF, and TNF-α it supports the development of lymphoid progenitors including dendritic, B, T, and NK cell progenitors. The cytokine has no significant effect on erythropoiesis or megakaryopoiesis. Both membrane-bound and soluble isoforms are biologically active, signalling through the class III receptor tyrosine kinase CD135.

Specific activity is ≥ 1 x 10^5 units/mg (EC50 ≤ 10 ng/mL) by cell proliferation assay using OCI-AML5 cells, and endotoxin level is ≤ 1 EU/μg protein by kinetic LAL analysis. The lyophilized product is intended for laboratory research use only.
