Hu Recom FGF-5, 100 µg

A laboratory reagent from STEMCELL Technologies, this product is Human Recombinant FGF-5. FGF-5 promotes cell differentiation and proliferation, and has known roles in skeletal muscle development. Biological activity was assessed by the ability to promote proliferation of NR6R-3T3 cells in the presence of heparin, with proliferation measured by a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum; in the manufacturer's example, the EC50 is 3.11 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 27.7 kDa, as demonstrated by SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions visualized with Coomassie Blue staining.
