From STEMCELL Technologies, Human Recombinant FGF-18 is a solid laboratory reagent. FGF-18 regulates proliferation, differentiation and matrix production of articular chondrocytes and has skeletal functions. Biological activity was demonstrated by its ability to promote proliferation of BALB/c 3T3 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay method; the EC50 is less than 10 ng/mL. The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 20.3 kDa and resolves under SDS-PAGE reducing and non-reducing conditions as visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Per the safety data sheet, the product is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard or the Globally Harmonized System, and is stable under recommended transport or storage conditions.
