This human recombinant growth factor protein is supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a laboratory reagent. It is presented as a solid preparation that is not classified as hazardous according to GHS criteria and is not regulated for transport under DOT, TDG, MEX, ICAO, IATA, IMDG, RID, ADR, or ADN. The chemical is stable under normal conditions.

The protein promotes embryonic heart development and the proliferation of brown adipocytes. Biological activity was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of BALB/c 3T3 cells, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, and in the example provided the EC50 is less than 20 ng/mL.

Quality was assessed by SDS-PAGE: 2 μg of the protein was resolved under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining, with a predicted molecular mass of 23.6 kDa. The product supports research workflows involving the differentiation of human MSCs into adipocytes. It should be handled in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice and stored as specified on the Product Information Sheet.
