Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this recombinant human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) preparation is supplied as a 10 µg vial intended for research use only. EGFR is a single-pass transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase that binds EGF, TGF-alpha, and related peptide ligands, triggering intracellular signaling cascades that govern proliferation, survival, migration, and differentiation in epithelial tissues. Because of its central role in development and its frequent mutation or overexpression in glioblastoma, non-small cell lung carcinoma, head and neck cancer, and colorectal cancer, this receptor is one of the most heavily targeted molecules in oncology research and drug discovery.

The 10 µg format is sized for receptor binding assays, ligand competition studies, autophosphorylation profiling, and cell-based activation readouts. Researchers commonly reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile PBS or serum-free culture medium and apply it to cultured cells, receptor arrays, or immobilized surfaces to interrogate downstream effectors such as ERK1/2, AKT, and STAT3. The same reagent is widely used as a substrate in kinase activity assays and in pull-down or co-immunoprecipitation workflows analyzing receptor dimerization, internalization, and endocytosis.

For handling, the vial should be kept frozen at -20 °C, protected from light, and aliquoted upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve bioactivity. Each lot is quality tested for identity and biological function. This reagent integrates well with other STEMCELL Technologies products used in cancer signaling, neural stem cell maintenance, and epithelial lineage workflows, providing a dependable source of full-length, bioactive human EGFR for mechanistic and screening studies in vitro.
