Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, Human Recombinant EGF is a growth factor that stimulates cell proliferation and differentiation in the intestine and supports the proliferation of stem cells in the central nervous system. Biological activity is evaluated by its ability to promote proliferation of BALB/c 3T3 cells, measured using a fluorometric assay method, with the EC50 (the effective concentration producing 50% of maximum proliferation) recorded at 0.1 ng/mL in the manufacturer's reference assay. Purity and molecular weight are verified by resolving 2 μg of the protein via SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions followed by Coomassie Blue staining, in line with its predicted molecular mass of 6.2 kDa.
