Hu Recom bFGF, ACF, 10 µg

Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) is a prototypical member of the fibroblast growth factor family, with broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and roles in proliferation, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis. This animal component-free preparation from STEMCELL Technologies is the full-length bFGF protein encoded by the human FGF2 gene and consists of 154 amino acid residues. It supports the maintenance of undifferentiated human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs), stimulates hPSCs to form neural rosettes, and improves proliferation of human mesenchymal stem cells while enhancing chondrogenic differentiation.

Specifications include a purity of ≥ 95%, specific activity of ≥ 2.0 x 10^6 units/mg (EC50 ≤ 0.5 ng/mL) as determined by a cell proliferation assay using NR6R-3T3 cells, and an endotoxin level of ≤ 0.1 EU/μg protein measured by kinetic LAL analysis. The product is lyophilized from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing sodium phosphate and sodium chloride at pH 7.5. For use, the vial should be centrifuged and reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting down the sides of the vial; do not vortex.

Store at -20°C to -80°C; the product is stable as supplied for 12 months from date of receipt. The Safety Data Sheet classifies this preparation as not a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System, and it is supplied as a solid intended for research use only.
