Hu/Ms Recom FGF-8B, ACF, 100 µg

A recombinant fibroblast growth factor supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, Human/Mouse Recombinant FGF-8B, ACF is presented as a solid and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) [S1]. The factor has been described as regulating gastrulation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and mesenchymal to epithelial differentiation during embryonic development [S2].

Biological activity was evaluated by the ability of the growth factor to promote proliferation of NR6R 3T3 cells in the presence of heparin, with cell proliferation measured using a fluorometric assay. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum, and was determined to be 0.915 ng/mL in the cited example [S2]. SDS-PAGE analysis resolved 1 μg of the preparation under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualised it by Coomassie Blue staining, indicating a predicted molecular mass of 22.5 kDa [S2].
