Hu IL-34, 100 _g

This recombinant human cytokine from STEMCELL Technologies is Interleukin 34 (IL-34), a dimeric glycoprotein belonging to the short-chain helical hematopoietic cytokine family. The protein is expressed in CHO cells and purified as a homodimer, with monomers migrating at approximately 39 kDa on SDS-PAGE. It is supplied lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4, with trehalose, mannitol, and TWEEN® 80 included as protectants, and is reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL.

IL-34 is expressed in many tissues, including heart, brain, lung, liver, kidney, thymus, testes, ovary, small intestine, prostate, and colon, with the highest expression in the spleen. It interacts with M-CSF to trigger tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor and ERK1/2 pathways, and in combination with RANKL it induces osteoclast differentiation. Biological activity is determined by proliferation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, with an EC50 of 2 - 8 ng/mL. Product purity is ≥ 92%, and endotoxin level is ≤ 1.0 EU/μg protein by kinetic LAL analysis. The product is stable as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -80°C.
