Description

A lyophilized recombinant chemokine from STEMCELL Technologies, prepared for research use. The protein corresponds to Chemokine ligand 19 (CCL19), also referred to as macrophage inflammatory protein-3 beta (MIP-3β), a member of the CC chemokine family that plays roles in inflammatory responses, T cell activation, homeostasis, and development. It is expressed in lymph nodes, thymus, and activated bone marrow stromal cells and binds to C-C motif chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) to induce migration of macrophages, T cells, and B cells. The expression of CCL19 has been clinically correlated with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and cancer. Alternative names include beta-chemokine exodus-3, CC chemokine ligand 19, ELC, Exodus-3, MIP-3β, and SCYA19.

The sequence spans residues Gly22–Ser98 of accession Q99731, with a predicted molecular mass of 8.8 kDa. The product is sourced from E. coli and lyophilized from a sterile-filtered aqueous solution containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid, presenting as a solid. Specifications include a purity of ≥ 95% and an endotoxin level of ≤ 1.0 EU/μg protein, as measured by kinetic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) analysis. The product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) or the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). Storage is recommended at -20°C to -80°C, with stability as supplied for 12 months from the date of receipt. The vial should be centrifuged before opening and reconstituted in sterile water to at least 0.1 mg/mL by pipetting the solution down the sides of the vial without vortexing.
