HotStarTaq® DNA Polymerase

QIAGEN's HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase is a chemically modified Taq polymerase engineered for hot-start PCR workflows. The enzyme remains inactive at ambient temperatures and requires a 95 °C activation step lasting roughly 15 minutes, which prevents spurious primer extension and minimizes primer-dimer formation before thermal cycling begins. Once activated, it efficiently amplifies single-copy genes from complex genomic DNA, cDNA, and challenging GC-rich templates, generating blunt-ended amplicons suitable for TA cloning, restriction digestion, and downstream Sanger sequencing.
