GloCell FV Dye Violet 450, 5x100tests

From STEMCELL Technologies, this fluorescent amine-labeling reagent enables clear exclusion of dead cells from flow cytometry data. The dye irreversibly binds intracellular and cell surface amine groups and can be used prior to fixation, permeabilization, or cryopreservation. Because live cells have intact plasma membranes, the dye stains only surface amine groups, whereas the compromised membranes of dead cells allow access to greater numbers of intracellular amine groups, producing higher fluorescence that reliably distinguishes live from dead populations.

Excited by the violet laser at 405 nm, the dye has a fluorescence emission maximum of 450 nm and can be detected using 440/40 or 440/50 band pass filters typically used for Pacific Blue™. It is supplied in anhydrous DMSO and should be stored at -20°C, protected from prolonged exposure to light. The product has been verified for flow cytometry and reported for immunofluorescence microscopy, and is also compatible with intracellular antibody staining protocols and visual discrimination of viable cells during fluorescence microscopy.
